Here is what you can expect at your child’s new patient visit:
We will take the time to know your child, as well as his/her likes and dislikes regarding past dental care. We will carefully review their medical history and past dental history. We will screen them for oral cancer. From there, we will examine their teeth and take any necessary x-rays and photos. We will clean their teeth and apply fluoride to make their teeth more resistant to tooth decay. We will discuss oral hygiene practices of your child. Nutritional counseling will be provided if needed.
A treatment plan will be formulated and different treatment options will be discussed with you. We will work together to establish a treatment plan that best meets your needs.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your visit:
Any current X-rays
A list of medications your child is currently taking
Any need for Antibiotic Premedication
If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary information so that we may assist you in filing a claim for the treatment provided
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at their dental visit. Please alert the office if your child has a medical condition that may be of concern prior to dental treatment (i.e. diabetes, heart murmurs, heart surgery, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if they are on any medications.
